Hello everyone, as I mentioned on title, I want to upgrade ram for my iMac 21.5 4K 2017. Can anyone give me recommendations? what brand should I buy? Corsair or Crucial? Anybody did before?

Should have ordered it with the memory installed. Going to void your warranty doing a complete strip down of your iMac.
I asked service providers and they said that if I pay them to replace so the warranty is still available but the ram. I just wonder what ram I should purchase ...

Go with Crucial or OWC. Their memory will be compatible. I know Macs can be finicky.

If they dont sell specific 2017 21.5” kits. I’d just get a kit for the 27” model.

You means we can use same ram kit for both 21.5 and 27, don't we?

Yes but there are only 2 Memory slots so you will need 2x 8gb for 16gb (which I assume is the upgrade option you want) and you will have spare 2 x 4gb taken out to sell or repurpose.

Given that the system is limited to two RAM slots and the OP is paying a store to install it. I would recommend the OP goes with a 2x16GB kit for 32GB RAM. Maxing it out.

Yes, it is overkill for most uses right now. At least the OP won't have to dispose of another set in the future and pay an Apple Service Center to install another upgrade. In the long run it is the cheaper option.
