I've received an offer from my local store, where I can get the $1,499 iMac for around $1,200. So, the HD 4670 graphic card and 1TB harddrive for free.

Now, I would use this iMac for the usual stuff;
- Photoshop (image editing)
- Aperture/LightRoom
- Some games, Sims 3, Modern Warfare, Age of Empires

There is no way I will get the missus to accept a 27" iMac into the house. And I don't want it myself either, too large.

Would you consider the 21.5" to be a good option in my case? Or would the graphic card be crap for any gaming at all?

I appreciate any input you have to give :)

can't decide either

I am also torn between the imac's and in fact the mini, am wondering what ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics with 256MB in more expensive 21.5 inch model will enable me to do that the base model won't

The advantage of the mini is the ability to choose what size/type of monitor you want to pair it with. However in the end I think the value buy is the base model 21.5.

Can I utilize extended monitor functions with the base model?

Hey there I have the 21.5 with the nvidia gpu, I dont really use it for games but I can get gta 4 to play quite well so seen as though the other card is nearly 4 times faster it will be fine for all games

Perfect machine for your needs.
I still think that this configuration and the standard i5 are the best in the current lineup.
