The dvd drive in my 21.5 2010 seems to be failing. Can it be replaced with a drive from a Toshiba or other laptop?

Thanks

I don't think a drive from another company like that will work as a replacement for the internal optical drive on your iMac, but just about any USB external optical drive will work. You can find them pretty cheap on places like Amazon.

Thank You so much.

As Weaselboy said, it's not worth the time and trouble to open up the iMac and replace the optical drive.

Just buy an external USB DVD/CD drive and plug it in.
Some have Bluray and M-DISC support as well.
