Hi,

I'm hoping someone out there will be able to help me.
Let me start off by saying that taking apart and building computers (PC's) is something I've been doing for the past 20 years.
A friend said their iMac had stopped working - I offered to take a look. Doing a little research online it sounded like the logic board might be bad.
I opened if up and inspected and cleaned the computer, looking for blown or singed components. All looked fine, I then checked the connections with my meter, again all seemed fine.
I purchased a new logic board from iFixit.com, transferred the CPU, memory, bluetooth/wifi and battery to the new board. After installing it, all I get is the first power light, trickle power from the power supply to the logic board. Now the hard drive wouldn't even spin up. Again the meter said that all was good with the board. When I contacted iFixit about returning the board, they said because I wasn't a certified Apple Technician they couldn't do it. (I saw nothing on their site about this when I bought the board.)

I thought I would go ahead and replace the pwr supply just in case that was the problem. But nothing changed.

Now I have a new logic board, pwr supply and battery and nothing happens. It feels like there is a reset switch someone in the hardware that needs to be tripped in order to get this to boot.

Ideas?
