I have a 2.66GHz i7 on my mid 2010 MacBook Pro and am updating to a desktop. It has been terrific work machine. I like the size of the 21-inch iMac but it has an i5 chip which was on my old Toshiba laptop and it was ok. If only the 21-inch had the i7 but that's not the case. I don't like the size and weight of the 27-inch but I like the i7 processor. I'd love to buy another MBP, but they only have four lightning ports and no ethernet port, a problem with my rural location's intermittent WiFi.

Am running graphic intensive, high resolution print created in InDesign using Photoshop and Illustrator. Use a scanner which only supports USB and works better with a direct connection.

How do folks like their iMacs, 21-inch or 27-inch?

Get the 27".
You will NEVER regret spending the extra $$$.
And... you can add more RAM on your own if you wish.
Not possible on the 21" model unless you completely disassemble it.

Absolutely get the 27. I recently upgraded from the 21 to a 27 with an i9. Money well spent. It handles my projects with ease and having a larger display is fantastic.
