I'm in a stumped situation. I am going to get either or, but I'm not sure which one will suit me. I've heard from someone they averaged 21 fps on the 24 inch in GTA 4 in medium settings with max resolution. I want to do some causual gaming. I want a sharp picture, I don't care about quality. I want around 24 fps. I want to play The Sims 3 with around 40+ fps on medium to high settings (gaming is all in Windows). I do heavy video editing occasionally, I make music, work with 10 MP SLR pictures, etc on my current low end 2008 20" iMac, but FCP is almost impossible to use when working with 1080P high quality video. Photoshop takes a bit to save and render some things. Motion can be a devil. I heard the 9400M is 2x better than the 2400XT. But GT120 is dedicated and also said to be better. However, the 24" is larger but no LED. It also has a worst"er" design. I also plan to stick with 4 GB RAM. Which one would be the better choice?

yes, but then LED backlit vs conventional CCFL tube, and the obligatory Yellow tinge that comes with the LED. /jk:D

finally 4 memory slots vs. the 2. dont forget the SD slot.

I'd go for the 21" if you dont mind the tinge, lol 3 inches is nice, but not a deal breaker in my opinion for this comparison.

I don't use SD cards nor will I upgrade my RAM. My main question was the CPU/Graphics card combined for speed. Like how much faster would an average modern game run on the GT120 rather than the 9400M for example.

My 2.93 GHz 24" with the GT 120 has been the most reliable system I've ever owned. No kernel panics, games run fine, etc.

I'm going with the GT120 iMac. I'm so happy though, I've been needing a new one for a few months now and here it is. We'll order it probably tomorrow and if it arrives fine we will sell my old one online. If it somehow comes in bad condition we will send it back and get a new one.

I'm getting the 4670 21.5 instead. I just think the LED, faster processor, and a gfx card better than the GT120 would make things go faster. The size is perfect for me as I wasn't so positive about lugging a 24" every now and then. I'll also get another Magic Mouse, I'll be selling my current Apple keyboard, mighty mouse, and possibly sell my current Magic Mouse as a separate item.

That was a quick change of heart, lol, :D If I had to choose I'd get the 21" too even with the yellow tinge everyone is so pissy about.

Maybe the Chinese been smoking cigs in the factories? Lol. Well, I can't wait. Literally, I have to wait until Monday or Tuesday. I'm gonna just sleep through the weekend.
