okay so i had read all the things about bootcamp working with some 24" imacs and not with others. then i also read that one firmware update could have fixed it.

i was wondering if there is a test i can do to see if my machine will work with windows/bootcamp. i just don't want to go out and buy a copy of xp and then find out that my imac is one of the ones that won't work =/

also, do i have to buy a fullblown copy of xp home? i know it CANT be an upgrade, but can i buy an oem version ( like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16832116169 ?)

thanks!

iMac 24" + Bootcamp?

You would need to buy the full version. The upgrade only works if your installing over an earlier version of Windows. You can buy oem versions from new egg, tiger direct, etc.
Make sure you get SP2 for XP and it is worth getting the security updates on and also do not forget anti-virus protection if your going to web surf on the Windows platform. Stay away from game hacker and cheat code sites as they are notorious for Spyware, which will dog XP to death.
