Hi,

I got my lovely new 24" iMac 3 days ago. I used migration assistant to move from my MBP (which I wont wipe, I just wanted all the apps, itunes etc from my laptop). As soon as it was all done I noticed a thin 2mm line of dead pixels in a very visible area of the screen. Heartbroken I called Apple and a replacement is on way. Apple will pick up this unit first.

So, how do I get everything thats on my iMac now onto the new iMac? I added 1 or 2 apps, created a new users etc so worst case its not a major problem to migrate from MBP again, but is there anything else I could use? I dont mind spending a little cash on it.

Well, hook your MBP to your imac, rerun Migrations Assistant (in utilities folder), then when the new one comes, do the same thing you did before

connect two machines using firewire, put old machine into target disc mode and transfer away
