iMac 24'' does not recognize DL disc

Hi,

I have a iMac 24'' with this drive: MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-875: DVD-Write: -R, -R DL, -RW, +R, +R DL, +RW. But, if I enter a Verbatim 8x DVD+R DL disc, the mac trows it back out.

Anyone have a clue why this is happening.

Same issue here... I think it's a firmware issue with the burner.

The new iMac 24"? If so, could be firmware or could be defective. I would bring the disc to an Apple Store and try to use it there. Obviously if it works, you have a defect, if not then it's widespread. So far haven't heard anything emerging issues or captures. Will keep an look out for any news.

I'll try a DL disc in my early 2009 tonight and see what happens.
