Recently I've been experiencing freezing problems with my iMac, which I think is due to heavy processing issues. I've been noticing just using a few things like eyetv and google chrome will jump my activity up to 100% CPU usage and freeze my computer. I was wondering if I should take it in to get it checked out? A few times it has crashed and I would have to reinstall OS X. I use Snow Leopard and have 4gb of ram.

If EyeTV and Chrome uses 100% of your CPU, there is definitely something wrong, either in in the software or the hardware.

yes i agree there, seems to be some sort of glitch somewhere.

are you running the latest OS? run a software update and see what you get.

if that doesnt fix it, i would try a reinstall in the form of "archive and install".

sorry to hear about your computer :(
