iMac 24 (early 2008) with LED 24 cinema display

Hi,

I have an iMac 24'' (early 2008) with a mini-DVI port and I just got a 24 LED Cinema Display. According to Apple they don't offer any mini-DVI to mini-DisplayPort adapter.

Does anyone knows of a solution to connect this two?

I saw that one, but it is a little over kill and expensive.

I found in amazon a female mini-display port to male display port and a male mini-DVI to female HDMI, so basically I need a male HDMI to a female display port.

Also if I can find a female mini-display port to a male DVI then I can use the second one you suggested.

I doubt that this will work though, otherwise such pricey adapters wouldn't be on the market.

I don't think that will work. I just ordered the Atlona DP-400, its only 114 at amazon.

It will allow me to use my 24" LED cinema display with my Core i7 desktop. Getting male to female (or vice versa) connectors to jury rig something will fail for a number of reasons, that seem to be centered around the direction of the signal is expected to flow.

Either way, I don't think any of us can cheap out with such a solution

You were right I try a couple of adaptors together and the signal direction didn't let them work. At the end I went with this:
