im looking to buy a used 24 inch imac. then i got to thinking..are there any news of apple bringing back the 24inch line?

24" iMac is a great buy. Perfect aspect ratio, anti glare as standard. Just get the last version and it will suffice for many years. I have just upped the HD in mine to 1TB - easy upgrade as long as you are a bit tool savvy.

is the 2.8ghz version the higher end of the line?

Good luck finding one i use them all the time in college but personally cannot wait until i get my 27" the larger screen will be very useful.

last 24" iMac has the same glass & glare as a new 21" or 27" iMac.

fastest 24" iMac is the 3.06 C2D with a CTO Radeon 4850.

You have to go back to the 24" white iMac to get antiglare.

the 24" are ok ,
but a little tip avoid by all means the 08 model with the optional GeForce 8800 GS
(ignore the tip if you got enough cash to replace that card on a regular basis )

better for the wallet .. settle for the 08 model with the basic spec which was the ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO instead if you plan to use the iMac on your desk instead of dragging it all the time to the apple store , as a side note the 08 models according apple only support up to 4 GB ram , but actually take 6 GB 1x 2GB module and 1x 4 gb module :)

i personally prefer the white 24" because of the matte display, despite the GeForce 7300GT/ 7600 GT but at least these cards dont fail that often

I have the 2009 24" with 2.66ghz processor, 1TB hard drive and 8gbs of Ram and Applecare until August 2012. I'm thinking of an upgrade when the new ones come out. Send me a PM if my machine interests you.
