Hello all,

I'm from the Philippines andI just like to share my experience with my iMac. I got it in June 2009, it's a 24 inch model with 2.93Ghz IC2Duo,650gb HD,nVidia GeForce GT 120 with 256MB of GDDR3 SDRAM. In November 2009, I noticed some dark spots on the screen and cracks(which looks like the lines on a crumpled paper).

I sent it to the authorized service provider here to claim warranty and Apple replaced the display. In June 2010, I noticed the display started to show some dark spots again, so I called the same service provider and proceeded with the warranty claim.

Now it's July, my iMac is covered by AppleCare. The service provider picked up my iMac from my house yesterday to be serviced as the replacement display came in already (2nd replacement display). I got a call from the service provider today to report that the replacement display was giving off too much heat that caused my iMac's fans to run as full speed. Apple engineers from Singapore advised the service provider engineers to re-seat the replacement display's cables, the recommendation didn't work. The service provider declared the just arrived replacement display defective and ordered a new display. This will now account for the 3rd time my iMac's display has been changed and historically it will have had 4 displays already should the new replacement arrives and be installed.

I've lost confidence in my iMac and informed Apple Asia, based in Singapore that I want a unit replacement. I've never had so much problems with a device and not to mention the fact that my iMac has had 3 display replacements within just one year from date of purchase.

Is there anyone here who could help me out and get in touch with Apple HQ because I want them to replace my iMac with a new unit, since it clearly shows that IT DOES REALLY HAVE A PROBLEM.

Let me know your thoughts. I'm really frustrated, tired and fed up with the problems my iMac has been having and not being really resolved.

I paid a hefty premium for a product that is not living up to its name, its functionality and purpose.
