First of all, thanks to all who have vigorously debated the 20" vs 24" topic. It has helped me make a decision. I have a 24" on the way, and I was curious if anyone has come up with an ideal desk height for the monitor. I am considering a wall mount, but it would be easier to use my existing desk. My desk is 30" tall.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Mark

I suppose it depends on how tall you are, the height of your chair relative to your desk and, most of all, personal preference. I would say wait until you get the beast and then decide if you need to adjust anything once it is sitting on your desk.

By the way, what 20" vs 24" debate are you referring to?

Monitor size

Over the past few months I've been reading various threads about whether to get a 20 or 24" IMAC. I've been using a 19" monitor with my PC for a couple years, so a 20" monitor would have been a logical choice. But, I was enticed by the video card, and especially the ability to get the 7600 GT with 256 MB. This is my first MAC, so I anticipate keeping it for a while. Also, I am a writer, and the thought of viewing two or more pages side by side is a definite plus.

Needless to say, I am anxious to get my IMAC, so for now I am soaking up as much information as possible.

We bought a 24" iMac as soon as they were released and have been very pleased with it. At first, my wife chastised me a bit saying it was too big but I caught her complaining about how small the 20" screens seem now. You will be very pleased.
