Should I jump now for a 24" iMac (2 month delivery delay though for a spec version). Or wait to see if Apple releases a 27" (or higher) replacement? Maybe at WWDC?

I think it’s hard for someone to say what you should do on this one without knowing your current situation.

I’d say the biggest factor would be what Mac are you using now and how well is it getting the job done. Is this the case if you need to upgrade or is this a case of money burning a hole in your wallet? If you can wait I would say wait. Mainly because if something else doesn’t come out then you didn’t lose anything but if it does then you’re going to be thinking I should’ve waited.

If you want a larger screen but only the power of of a 24” iMac you could get a Mac mini with the Studio Display. Even with this decision I would wait till WWDC because there are some rumors of a new Mac mini.

I love my iMac for web browsing, a few Word, Excel documents and watching YouTube but if I was doing productivity work I would want a larger screen or even multiple larger screens.

I don’t think the larger iMac is coming back. I could be wrong but I think Apple replaced it with the Studio Display and their intention is modularity with either using a Mac mini or Mac Studio. Of course it’s impossible to figure this stuff out because only Tim Cook and a few other people probably know what’s going on. Everyone else is just speculating or projecting what they want vs what’s really going to happen.

There was an article posted in the news section which stated that Apple would not be making a larger iMac anytime soon

Agreed with Diablo.
Probably not going to be a new 27" iMac for a while.

If you want an iMac these days, it's either 24" or perhaps a refurbished 27" with an Intel CPU.
If you want 27" and m-series, it's the Mac Studio (and display of your choice, it doesn't have to be the Studio Display, which I think is far overpriced).

Apple will not release a 27" iMac replacement at WWDC. They consider the Studio Display to be the 27" iMac replacement. Just add a Mac (Mini, MBP or Studio). It can even be a recent Intel Mac.

Like others, I don’t see the 27” iMac coming back anytime soon. If you can wait, I’d suggest waiting until WWDC and see if anything is announced at that time.

I wonder if all the silicon shortages made it so Apple couldn’t get enough panels for both the studio display and a 27” iMac.
