Hello there,

I have both of the above mentioned iMacs. 12.2 has fried motherboard whereas 14.2 has display (not retina, same resolution) with some clouding in the bottom left and right corners. Nothing severe, it is visible only on very bright pages but nuisance nevertheless.

I was wondering if it's possible to swap displays from 12.2 and install it into 14.2?

Thanks for any input.

Best Regards,
Goran

The mid 2011 12,2 iMac display is not compatible with the late 2013 14,2 iMac display.
The older thick model had the glass and lcd separate from each other. Starting with the late 2012 13,2 iMac, Apple began gluing the lcd/glass together. Only the late 2012 13,2 iMac and late 2013 14,2 iMac displays are compatible with each other.

Thank you all for your input.

Would anyone know if it's still possible/feasible to get hold of 12.2 motherboard? I'd really like to bring old 12.2 back to life.

Thanks again,

Best,
Goran
