hi all
so im here on the edge to buy a imac 27 i7 2.93
but i cant deside on the hd, i really only need 1tb but i read about so many that have problems with the 1tb.

so are there any out there who got a 1TB that just work fine or do i have to wrench out the last money to get the 2TB. its really sad we have to thing like this, should never be a choise we have to deal with, but seems thats the apple way.

Is there any warranty seal preventing from installation of a new hard disc?

if u r installing 2 tb because of 1 TB failure you are wrong, HD fail all the time 1 TB are no different, HD are getting better in reliability and speed.
2tb is expensive to keep up with backup (need 2 TB for backup too), I use Time capsule and FW desktop for 2 backups.

The 2 Tb drives are reported to be quieter and more reliable. I bought a 2 Tb and I am backing up to 1 Tb drives. The reason is that at the moment my primary HD is only 250 Gb in size. It will grow but not all that rapidly. Both Time Machine and SuperDuper are happy. I have the added benefit of knowing I will probably never run out of space on my main drive. It is easy to increase the size of backup drives down the road. Just my take...
