Hello, I have iMac 27' 2011.
It wasnt turning on so I took it to Apple Authorised Service Provider here in Bosnia.
After two days they said that the problem is dead Logic board.
They don't have that part because machine is obsolete but they said if I find it somewhere else they would be happy to repair it for me.
Now my question is, since my iMac is 2.7 i5 with 512MB VRAM and the logic board I want to buy is 3.1 i5 which back in the day were coming with 1024MB VRAM.
Is it going to make a problem when I put 3.1 i5 with 512MB Graphics Card.
Thanks

Hi,

I have the same MAC, just a little bit different specs.
Swapping the logic board shouldn't be an issue. You can even buy a board without a CPU and swap your CPU to it.

Graphics cards can be swapped without problems as long as you insert a supported one, so your old Graphics card (if it isn't broken) will work fine.

I even swapped my old Graphics card with a Nvidia 780 using this post:
