iMac 27 - 2017 External Monitor Help

I have the latest iMac 2017 version.

I bought a USB - c to DP cable to hook up my dell p2414h.

Periodically the Dell monitor will go black for 1 second, then come back......

I have tried 2 of the same cable so it is nota broken cable (unless that brand sucks)

Any tips or ideas would be appreciated....

Could still be the cable or the adapter.

You might try a DIFFERENT brand of cable. Make sure the one you get is specifically advertised to work with 2017 Macs (some usb-c to displayport cables that worked with 2016 models DO NOT WORK with the 2017's).

Alternative approach if you can't find ANY usb-c/displayport cable that works with this display:
I know others will object, but I'd suggest trying a usb-c/VGA adapter, and then use a VGA cable to the display's VGA port. If it works, it works.

Does the display have an HDMI port? (I checked and didn't see any, but I could be wrong).
You might try that approach, too.

Again, whatever way you can find that works -- I'd run with it.

I don't have your dell p2414h monitor ... but this cable works great with my 2017 iMac 5K to Dell P2715Q monitor.

The Plugable cable works perfect with my 2017 iMac 5K and Dell U2715H.
