Digging into some old thread - I didnt find the perfect info.

I've upgraded my 5k iMac 2019 i'm working on with some 64Gb ddr4, a nice Crucial P5-Plus 2tb (maxed perf on this iMac, close to 2800mbps read and write) and now thinking about upgrading the CPU.

But I didnt find a clear answer about the CPU compatibility.
I've the 6 cores i5 base model. I wonder if i go for the 9700 (not K) as it's cheap and good enough... but maybe it's not worth the effort compared to my i5 6 cores... so let's jump into the devil i9. 9900 (not k would be super nice as the TDP is 65W), but of course, I'm tempted by a K version but i'm a bot afraid about the TDP at 95W. I know that it's compatible but i'm afraid about the fan noise.

Can someone can tell me how the fan is behaving with the devil in its K version?

I installed 8700k, 9900 and 9900k, on all of them the fans start spinning at any light load. It is necessary to steel the processors so that the processor heats up less.
