Hi, all!

I've got this mac around 2 years. Still in warranty cause I've got AppleCare+. Not long time ago I saw this little spots and though that they are on the screen, but when I tried to clean it.. they are inside screen. I called Apple and they gave me contacts of support from my city. But I don't want to fix this, I want to sent back this iMac to Apple cause this is not my fault. If you ask me about why I don't want to fix this — because I don't trust support and I don't know what quality of assembling will be at the end.

Does anybody faced with such problem?
And how you figure out this?

Will be glad to hear your stories.
Thank you!

I don't think they're just going to send you a replacement without seeing the machine themselves first, so I'd advise you to go ahead and take it in to have it evaluated. Are you 100% sure that it's not on the outside glass? Have you run your finger over the area to see if you can feel anything or used something other than just plain water (e.g. a 1:1 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water) to try to clean it? I've owned iMacs since 2009 and have never seen such an issue.

Yeah I would agree, Apple is not just going to replace a two year old machine without looking at it or repairing it.

Sure, I will give this iMac to support service, cause I need their conclusion that this happens not cause of me. And yes, I tried to clean it. Even when I was speaking with apple support, they asked me to clean it and shoot the process and upload video to them, to avoid simple outside glass situation.

You will have to bring the machine there eventually.
If you are sure about the inside dust, don't bother with their advice any more.

This is a kind-of common issue with iMac LCDs. It does happen over time to some of the displays.

It is possible to clean out yourself, however that requires knowledge and confidence of taking the LCD apart from the machine, plus making sure to clean the dust without getting anything extra in the backlight layers.
I have done this hundreds of times before, with a large majority of success.

Do you know of any instructions for this 19,1 model? I've replaced the HDD in a 2015 but my 2019 19,1 is now showing dust in the bottom left corner and I'd like to clean it.
