Alright so I work in a high school and just bought a new camera, the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K and was wondering about my options about upgrading my iMac so I don't feel bottlenecked.
We made the mistake of taking the 1TB Fusion Drive instead of an SSD; I was wondering if using a Samsung T7 1TB would be beneficial, I'd be installing macOS on this drive and use my original drive as a long term storage of old Final Cut projects, is that a great idea? I've never ran macOS on an external SSD before.
Next thing I'd be upgrading is the GPU by using an eGPU, I'd be using a Radeon RX580, I currently have the Radeon Pro 570X with 4GB of GDDR5 memory, would the addition of a Radeon RX580 be worth it. (I'd be using that one because I already have it, I'd only need to buy the eGPU enclosure)
