I bought an iMac 27 late 2014 5k, from a photografic studio, the reason it sold very cheap was that the unit would get very hot and noisy, I have the imac for a few months and I did notice that when converting videos at the back I could see little pieces of solidified dust, obviously coming from inside, so today I disconnected every single cable and got a brush used to clean inside little pipes and inserted in the lower opening (air suction) and I couldn't believe the big amount of compact dust coming out, i got a vaccuum cleaner to suck the dislodged fluf and I coul see that there is a grill with tiny holes I cleaned as much as I could, and turned the computer back on and tested ripping and transcoding some videos I could see that the temperature dropped by 13 degrees celcius, and i can't hear the fans anymore. I guess that the only way to properly clean the unit is to put the unit apart, which is not as easy as the old 2011, anyone has any ideas how to dislodge the dust inside the iMac?

Hi ridgero, unfortunatelly is not good for the 2014 model, up to the 2011 you could dismantle the front glass very easy because of the magnets, the later models have tape strips that have to be broken to get the screen out, i have lots of imacs for sale with a broken glass because of not being too careful on the operation.
