iMac 27" and windows 7 installation

Hi everybody,
I have been struggeling a lot to get windows 7 to work on my iMac 27" i5 2,66GHz Radeon 4850.

The installation went well almost.

need to do a repair windows and delete the NV_AGP.sys driver to get into windows.

After this installation there is missing some iSight and bluetooth drivers, but this is not so important.

The important is, how can I get my iMac to function perfect with the ATI drivers and sound problems I get by installing windows 7.

Is there any guidness, of wich drivers I should update with?

Problems I get are no sound in games, if I not update to bootcamp 3.1, but when I do update to 3.1 the sound works but my Games wont load anymore, and I cant play my games

Looking forward for some good guides and solutions

after installing windows 7, eject the disc and then insert the snow leopard installation disc. this will help to update all the necessary drivers for windows 7, including for sound and others that didn't work for you previously.

The guy has cerebral palsey so he's a little hard to understand but his directions on how to do it are EXACTLY right. Use an SD card though, not a USB for the drivers. My computer wouldn't recognize them from a USB for some reason or either it was just taking a really really long time to do so and I got impatient and re-did the process on an SD card. Worked like a charm.

And again, the last step in the process is to insert your Mac OSX disc and it will auto play and run you through a simple process to install the missing drivers.

Now everything should work perfectly.

I did this a month ago and have had zero problems other than Windows 7s sleep mode not being totally compatible with the hardware, i.e. it won't wake up after it goes completely to sleep. I found a fix for this that involves changing the power management/sleep settings and now I have no issues. If you have any questions feel free to PM me!

It sounds like you got the "black screen" issue with installing win7? So did I. I saw that deleting a driver seemed to fix it, but I schose to follow the instructions via the apple website. This worked flawlessly. I don't know if your deleting the driver would cause any issues.

Aside from that - as the previous posters have stated - the last step for installing win7 is to put your OSX disk in - it will autoplay and run an installer for all the required drivers for your bluetooth accessories.
