iMac 27" for photo editing vs pc?

I currently have a pc with a Core i5 750 cpu, 4gb ram and a calibrated Dell u2410 24" screen. Since I love OS (have a Macbook Pro 13") I'm thinking about switching to an iMac. But is an iMac, and especially the screen, good enough for photo editing? Or should I stick with pc?

The 27 iMacs are gorgeous for photo editing. If you get the high end 27 inch model with lynnfield, then you'd get same performance as your pc.

iMac 27" has the best display apple ever made.
But if you're talking about OS..
the only thing I can say is,
Mac runs both Mac OS and Windows perfectly
and PCs don't


My opinion:
iMac is the best machine for graphic related work
get the 27"!
