Hey all first post here,

I just got my iMac 27" mid 2010 back from the repair shop where they changed the LCD-panel for a new one as I had grey spots on the top right hand corner.

So the LCD works great now but the glas front panel has a glitch, not a big problem but really annoying. I really don't want to carry it back :(

I hope someone knows a trick or two that I can try before I go back with it.

Thanks!
:)

The left corner is all good though:

Looks like something keeps the two magnets from closing together.
You could take the "glass" off and take a look. Works easy even without tools; I did it with my bare hands several times.

I actually did check the magnets and nothing seems to be blocking them from touching. Really weird.
As they changed the LCD panel they could have repositioned the actual frame so the magnets are further back than they should be. But hard to know as I didn't see how it looked like from start.

Maybe I can take a picture with the glas removed, but it just looks like "normal" just like this :

So you think the edge of the screen might be tilted a bit?
Hmm...the magnet should still be strong enough to pull it close.

Honestly, if you are sure you didnt see anything unusual, then I do not know what would case such a problem.

Yeah probably, but really hard to know since I can't really see if something has changed.

I might as well go back with it to the repair shop. Maybe someone else that has popped open a couple of these may have stumbled upon the same problem.

Thanks for trying atleast Lord Appleseed
