Has anyone played into a the late stages on a huge/marathon game with an imac 27/radeon 5750?

I'm curious as to how it performs (I want to buy one if it handles the game very well).

Thanx!!

Not quite what you're looking for, but I'm playing on a large earth map, well into the late game, on my 2009 27" i7 with the 4850. At native resolution with some of the game settings turned up, playing via Win7 64bit.

No noticeable graphics issues, at least not enough to get me worried. Scrolling is smooth. From what I can tell, any lag I experience is between turns while the AI is making its moves.

Excellent thanks for the info!

My MBP is getting slow on me (civ5 and logic pro are pushing it hard).

It plays well. I don't have it installed on my SSD, but on the regular 2TB HD and it runs fine.

All the graphical settings are high or better, and of course I play on native resolution.

I'm in the late stages (around 1940) of a Huge, Epic game on an iMac i7 27" with 12GB RAM playing at 2540x1440 on Windows 7. I'm playing with the default graphics settings which are mostly high with some mediums.

The game plays pretty well, I don't have any complaints. I'm pretty sure the game is more CPU-bound than GPU-bound anyway.

The game is gorgeous at that res on the iMac. Civ 5 is a huge leap above Civ 4. I love the way ranged/no-stacked combat work now, it makes combat a lot more fun and tactical. I also love that it's hex-based and how the addition of city/states make the game a lot more interesting.

It's funny how after you liberate a dead civilization back to life how they usually hate you while city/states you liberate are very grateful.

Yeah I'm loving it as well - much better - its killing my MBP though!

I'm either going mac pro 2.8 5870 or iMac 5750.
