Hi there guys!

Im trying to upgrade my Imac with a 16GB kit. I have been reading a lot of troubles to upgrade Imacs to 16Gb, but I dont know if this problem affect to late 2009 or is specific of the mid 2010.

Anyone having troubles with a late 2009 upgrades?

Also was thinking of going for a Crucial kit of 4x4. Good?

Would be much appreciated any consideration.

Thanks.

If you're that worried, why go up to 16GB?

What do you use your machine for that is going to require so much RAM?

PS. Yes, Crucial is v good.

I will be using Rhino, Cinema 4D, Photoshop, Illustrator, Autocad, Lightroom and eventually some video.

I think it is quite affordable now and would like to use the full powerful of the machine.

Do you know something about if all that problems affect also to late 2009 models? or just mid 2010?

Thanks!

I've seen people running 4x4GB without issues. You could get 16GB and try it. If it causes you issues, then return it and get e.g. 12GB.

I believe the problem was with the 2010 iMacs. I have a late 2009 i7 running 16gb with no problem.

I got mine from OWC.

Thanks guys.

After reading and reading it seems to be only with 2010 models. So I will give it a try and I hope everything will works as it should.
