Target Screen Mode iMac (27-inch, Mid 2010) with 2018 mac mini

Has anyone attempted this configuration? I was hoping to use my retiring iMac (27-inch, Mid 2010) as a screen for a new mac mini.

Holding off with the big screen purchase until after CES 2019.

Specifics on cabling would be appreciated.

Should work with a USB-C to Mini DisplayPort adapter and Mini DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort cable.
