Hello,

my graghic card dies every half year or so , so I do this everytime when it happens. I burn it in the oven like in the video. After the last time I did this, the cpu fan stopped running.
I already tried installing a new one but it will also not run.
Does somedody have any idea for a solution or a workaround like connecting it externally to run it with static rpm's?

Also, before the last "burning" I have tried this: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...efi-variable-fix.2037591/page-5#post-24511780

Could it be that I destroyed something software wise and it's not a hardware problem?
Hardware test say: 4MOT/4/40000002: CPU-0

That fix for the MacBook Pro won't work on an iMac. The CPU internal graphics unit is not wired to the display.

Is the fan not running at all, or is just the software telling it is not running?

Did you tried to undo the changes you made?

And as ultimo you could just install another GPU, like a Quadro or GTX, there is a whole treath about it. I also own 4 of those iMac's, three with a defective video card. One now has a K1100M (~35€) and the other one a GTX 765M (~100€)

Hello,
I have exactly the same situation, cpu fan is not working. It’s not a fan problem because I switched between gpu and cpu plugs, both work in gpu plugin and both don’t work in cpu plugin.
I have a question, can I make a split from gpu plugin for both fans?
I’m out of ideas and I can’t find any solution or info.
thanks

Remove the GPU and boot your iMac again. Tripple PRAM reset.
If you can't power up your iMac, the issue has spread to other parts like the logicboard (assuming that the CPU is near immortal) or the PSU, of the fans....
