Hi! I am trying to install an Nvidia 780m GPU for the iMac 11,1. I would like OpenCore Legacy Patcher with Big Sur compatibility. I would like Native Brightness Control, and also compatibility for external display. I would also like to be able to use the actual display on the iMac instead of having to output to an external monitor. Thanks for any help in advance.

Best regards,
Stefan

Have a read of the first post in this thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/2011-imac-graphics-card-upgrade.1596614/

That thread should tell you all you need to know.

Also note that Macs that shipped with Nvidia graphics cards have been dropped from the officially supported list of Macs with Mac OS 12 Monterey, so if you had not purchased the card yet I would have recommended considering the AMD graphics cards on the link I mentioned above.

Forget it.
The GPU you are thinking about will not give any output to the LCD panel of the iMac in your signatures.

How much is your budget? And what is the purpose (usage) of the machine?

If you really want to re-use your iMac, You can convert it to a multiport Monitor. The LCD driverboard cost about 75~80$.
And buy another capable machine for your purpose. A core 2 duo CPU, how ever fancy GPU you may equip it with, will be a critical bottleneck of your system.
