The power supply has failed and I am trying to identify this part on the circuit board (see pic), There is a part number printed on the side which is SW-C23110201 HF 1001 MC Rev C. I presume its a Transformer but not sure. I have Googled every iteration of that number I can think of and i get nothing. Any help in identifying it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know what that is, but I'm following because mine just died this week too.
Did the Power Supply die or something else. ? is LED 1 lit up when you plug the iMac into the wall but before you press the Power On button ? 90% of the time the failure with these Power Supplies are the Electrolytic Capacitors and it is relatively easy to replace them. Have a look at the tops of them first, it they are bulging or partially open then they are dead and need to be replaced. You will find this PDF file helpful its the original Apple Technicians Guide for this model iMac

Thanks for the tech guide. As far as I can tell, all lights are off. I'm not 100% sure I've seen the lights in the off position, but looking where the diagram shows them and looking from several angles there is nothing lit up. So, feeling fairly good about it being power supply.

Power Supply for sure . Prime suspects are those capacitors, they cost bugger all to buy so replacing them is definitely worth a try.
