- MacBook Pro 15" early 2011 > i7 2Ghz - 16Go 1600Mhz - SSD600Go - Intel Graphics HD 3000 + Radeon HD 6490M - Catalina10.15.4(DosDude1 patch)

All ram modules are the same > SAMSUNG - PC3L - SO-Dimm - PC 12800 - 1600Mhz - Cas 11 - 8GB

On both computers, intel i7 sandy Bridge, module ram.

Questions:

Why the same ram is only at 1333Mhz in the iMac ?
Is there something to do to get 1600Mhz (natively in the MBP)?

Thx

Bonjour,

I am sure I have read and seen screenshots of iMac 2011 running Ram at 1600Mhz (no links re-found).

By cons on the principle it surprises me because it is the processor that manages the Ram.

In Core i7-2600, Memory Types: DDR3 1066/1333, Source.

Ok but how can you explain both CPU are same family, same model, same stepping, but one runs memory at 1600Mhz (native speed ram) and the other at 1333Mhz

Re,
I do not know but I confirm having seen imac 2011 with the 1600Mz ram working well at this speed on the Geekbench site, I should have kept the link.

So it's possible but surely with a certain brand of memory.
