iMac 27" - Mouse + keyboard sleep?

I've got a question regarding my Magic Mouse and Keyboard power consumption.

I want to keep my iMac awake a lot of the time despite being away from my desk. Even if the iMac is awake will my Magic Mouse still go into its power saving mode regardless of what the iMac is up to?

Same with the Keyboard?

Yes, they both sleep.

I am leaning toward yes. I have no definitive knowledge but they would recognize inactivity and sleep...

I stopped using the magic mouse or whatever it's called cause it sucked a lot of juice.
Who knows if it goes to sleep, that mouse is a battery eating little sob
