I called apple due to my imac having various issues, not being able to boot. blah blah buzzing noise from the screen. They said they are going to have an onsite repair scheduled. The manager assured me that the tech will have the parts on hand. My questions are
1.Does anyone have experience with an onsite repair?
2. How can they have the parts on hand if all they have is what i told them was wrong with the machine over the phone?
It is a 27 imac with 8 gigs of ram and i really didnt feel like lugging it to the store again, i already had the logic bored replaced...

The only thing I can imagine is that he has most of the component parts for your 11,3 iMac on hand in a van, right up to and including a full replacement unit if he can verify that there is a screen buzz that would require shipping away.

They were supposed to call today, they never called. I managaed to reformat the computer and the whole time the cd drive sounded like it was scraping a disk. The screen buzz is still there. The noise can more accuratly be described as a whine like a teapot
