Hello all,

Two weeks after a year of usage the black spots have started appearing on my screen :(
Since it is a known problem and my iMac is out of warranty I am trying to fix it instead of replacing it for about $600.
I am inspired by this thread
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/861355/
in which forum member steve96815 posted some hints and old howto (in Spanish) after his successful story of cleaning his screen.
The howto refers to older iMac model and has different LCD panel the current iMac 27".
The 27incher sports LG's LM270WQ1 model I am trying to open.
I have unmounted some screws from its metal frame, but still I am unable to take off the frame in order to open the screen

Here is a video of the current situation:

Can you help me or post some hints how or what should I do next to take off this metal frame?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

did you manage to open it?

Unfortunately we did not manage to open the LCD panel yet.
Hopefully someone skillful will point us in right direction.
I am sure it is doable so sooner or later it will be done and posted in here.

Thanks for directing me to this thread, Capitano. I didn't notice that there was one for this.

I haven't opened up my 27" at all yet, so I'm not really certain, but maybe there are more screws hidden under a covering on the screen?

About 20 seconds into your video, on the bottom corner of the screen. Does that lift up?
