Hello, guys!
Already a year or two I'm thinking about replacing my late-2014 27" iMac's display to something new. The problem: it has some kind of "ghosting" (after 30 minutes or so it starts displaying duplicated image — some images of previously opened windows beneath the current image), it's nasty as I'm working mainly with text and Photoshop.
AFAIK my iMac has an LG LM270QQ1 (SD)(A2) LCD panel, this is not DCI P3 compatible display as according to panelook.com it covers only 81% of this color space. As we know, a year later Apple later introduced a late-2015 iMac that should cover around 100% of DCI P3 (), it has practically the same LCD panel but with different model number: LG LM270QQ1 (SD)(B1). 2017 iMac was built with even newer panel: LG LM270QQ1 (SD)(C1).
Some sellers claims that newer panels are not compatible with older iMacs, but this one claims that the newest (SD)(C1) panel could be installed into older iMacs.
The question is (and I ask only those who knows what they talking about, who really tried to do so or at least could practically visually compare different panels and ports): whether (C1) panel could be installed to my 2014 27" Retina iMac? Do these panels are really interchangeable, are there any troubles during installation as described here for older iMacs? Do I need to buy any parts besides LCD panel to install it (like different controller board etc., not counting an adhesive stripe)?
P.S. I found a datasheet for (SD)(A?) panel here. Alas, I can't find a datasheet for any newer panel, and Apple's technician guides are useless as they provide only internal part numbers, not actual display "names".
Thanks in advance!
