Intel's Sandy Bridge is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2011, but when is Apple going to update the iMac line? Any ideas? Thanks.

Probably close to when they have in the past, so likely July-October/2011.

Is it going to be just a refresh of the internals or a major redesign? What do you folks think?

No one knows except Apple engineers. More than likely though, its just gonna be another refresh (with SB) and some random mediocre graphics card as per usual.

I'll be happy with my i7 for 5+more years.

But just think of a sandy bridge i9 or i11!!!!:)

The current design is ergonomic, provides space, great heat transfer, good screen real estate, I wouldn't expect it to change much, if at all.

Probably Q2 2011 is the next refresh, if not Q3, and it will probably include sandy bridge, but once that comes out someone will still complain that Sandy Bridge is old tech..
