Imac 27" SC2 Voice Chat (trial)

Hi, my friend has a 27" 2010 Imac, with a 2.8 Ghz i5. We seem to have fine chat settings and our tests work, however we can't talk to one another. It seems fine because on a Macbook Pro i can talk fine with some friends on Windows 7 computers, however right now we're just having issues communicating. Anyone got any ideas as to what the problem might be?

Also, to add, he's using the trial version of the game on a 7 day card, with a newly downloaded client and a new bnet account.

The in-game chat isn't that good. Best to just use Skype or Ventrillo.
