Hi,

I'm going to be buying my first imac 27" in a week, cannot wait!! My questions is, the Apple store said to transfer my itunes over to the new mac (have PC now) that I need to bring my PC in and leave it for a day or so to transfer it. Isn't there an easier way, I really don't want to leave it in an apple store for a couple of days. Any help would be appreciated!!
Thanks!

If you have it on a external HDD (or could find one to put your music onto) then it's as easy as Tiger Woods.
All you have to do it grad the files straight into iTunes and it'll cache everything for you.

I do have an external drive for my PC. But like I said I'm transferring from a PC to a new imac. Will the new imac recognize my ipod, iphone when I go to sync them for the first time??? Sorry, new to a mac.

Thanks!

Yes, it'll recognize it. However, it'll basically resync it, since your iMac doesn't remember your iPod. So once you hook it up, it'll do a clean sync and transfer all your purchased songs/apps/movies. But you'd need to authorize your computer with your iTunes account first.

But other than that, if you transfer your music over to iTunes from a external drive, you should be good to go.
