So as has been well established on several threads here and elsewhere, the 2017 27" iMac with the Intel Core i7-7700k experiences extreme temperature spikes, and can have sustained CPU temperatures of 95 - 100 C when under heavy CPU load.
I have one of these iMacs. I don't care in the slightest about noise from its fans. However, I'm very worried both that any prolonged heavy use of the CPU will cause it to do an emergency shutdown due to going over its max temperature, and that the continual temperature spikes will significantly reduce the lifespan of the CPU. I'd very much like to continue using this system well past the three years of AppleCare+ I get.
Are these valid concerns?
Also, has there been any acknowledgement of this issue from Apple?
