iMac 3.06 GHz reported as 3.60 GHz !

My iMac is being really flakey so I ran the Apple hardware test utility. It's reported at 3.60 GHz ! Doesn't exactly fill me with confidence for the accuracy of the utility... (it's 3.06 under 'About This Mac')

I wonder, how about loading up a live linux CD/DVD and seeing what it reports back as your CPU?

On the other hand, Apple Care.

Do you suspect a hardware problem, linux live CD = good idea

Probably just an issue with the Hardware Test not being programed to recognize that specific CPU's bus/multiplier combo.
