Doing Hd Video editing currently right now on a 2.2 ghz MBP and it's time for an upgrade.

I use an eSata connection for my external drives and unfortunately found out that the imacs do not have eSata :(

Please someone help me out, thanks

3.2GHz is about 5% faster so if that small bump is really needed, then it might be worth it. What app are you going to use? Is it work related or just a hobby?

professional work related

Then get the fastest machine as you can. Faster computer means more productivity which is equal to more money. I would take a look at 27" as the display is enormous for editing and the quad core CPUs will speed it up even more
