I just received an old 350 mhz imac slated to be the jukebox in our church youth room. Unfortunately, I can't get the network up and running. My router doesn't even show that the cable is plugged in (this is odd, since the light normally goes on as soon as a computer is powered on). Does this mean that the card is dead or is there there something in the BIOS that turns the card on and off?

I'm also looking to install linux on this, and the debian install doesn't find the network. Currently the imac has OS 9 running.
