I can't seem to find this info anywhere, perhaps someone here knows. Any idea who the OEM manufacturer of the 500GB iMac BTO option is?

It could vary depending on who is the cheapest at the time. My 20" has a 250GB Maxtor.

It could be Maxtor, Seagate, and I am not sure who else Apple has used in the past. Maybe Western Digital, but I dont think so.

Could be Hitachi. I think my Rev A iMac has a 160 GB Hitachi in it. I am not 100% sure, but I did have it apart a couple weeks ago and that is what I remember for some reason.

OEM drives' manufacturer's vary. No way of knowing until you open up the box. I know. I tried to find out before I bought on an iBook last year.

My iMac 20" Coreduo has a 250GB Western Digital, so it is a possibility that the iMac could be packin' the "Dub-D" (aka a western digital Hard drive.)
