Hi,
I am considering buying an i5 iMac 5k 2017 as an upgrade from my MacBook Pro, and wanted to check if there is any way for me to get an hdmi out signal from the iMac, to allow me to run a PowerPoinr or Keynote. presentation on an hdmi tv or projector?

I have been offered a 2015 5k i5 at a competitive price, but am assuming for video editing use I would be much better with the improved graphics card on the 2017 model. Would that be correct?

I appreciate any advice.
Thanks

Duncan

You just need a 3rd party USB-C adapter/hub that has HDMI output. Apple's own USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter is reported to have compatibility issues, which may also be true on 3rd parties but at least they cost much less if you are to buy a few to do trial and error.

And yes the 2017 is quite a step up from 2015 in video editing capabilities. The CPU performance and the RX580 with 8GB VRAM are both major improvements from previous gen, especially for FCPX and Davinci Resolve.
