Hello all,
so I have this iMac 5K 19-1, the Fusion Drive started to act up a few years ego so i installed Mojave on an external samsung T7 ssd.
i then updated the os to Catalina, and it was running fine, until i decided to update the os once again last week to Sonoma 14.1
The installation seems to run fine, then it just stop middle of booting.
I tried lot of things, but it always stop at booting normally, i can load Sonoma in safe mode tho.
i dont have a proper backup, but i have my important files saved elsewhere.
I did instal the OS again from recovery mode, but same thing.
Also I did reset the internal fusion disk, then instal the OS again, same thing.
I read somewhere Sonoma got problems with usbc so I plugged the ssd with the usba and same thing.
I got no clue what else to do, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

so when i boot i got the chime sound, but when in safe mode there is no audio devices and i dont think the video card is activated either, but everything else seems to be ok.
is this normal ? or does that means something with the graphic card is not working properly maybe ?
or is it because of a third party app/extensions that doesn't load in safe mode ?
Should i uninstall some apps untill it works ?

just did an apple diagnostic (option+d), no error found
Does this means its not the graphic card ? the card was working fine before the update
So im thinking it is a sofware problem, and i have a feeling its due to adobe clusterfk

ok, im running out of ideas here, and also time, as im using the mac for work.
i got this other ssd that i can reformat, its only 500g but that'll do for now.
So what would be the best solution to fresh install sonoma on a second ssd ?
from safe mode ? from recovery ? from the app store ?
can I install another OS ? if yes what OS would be the best stable choice ?

Well, i did installed fresh OS on a new ssd and got no problems at all, everything is working fine.
Maybe some problems with iCloud stuff, but no big deal, and i can also retrieve all my stuffs with the migration assistant tool if i had the space on this tiny ssd, and yea i do not, nut its not a real problem as i backup my files elsewhere.
