Hi everyone,

My iMac 5k doesn't boot up after i enabled the filevault encryption and did a restart (it asked for it).
I don't even get the screen to input my password.
All i see is a "No access" sign (see the picture).

Any ideas how to fix it without reinstalling the OSX?

iMac 5K 4ghz 32gb 3TB 295X 4GB, El Capitan the latest update.

Thanx...

Thank you for your help.

After trying many things i was finally able to fix this issue.

I rebooted the iMac holding Command+R, then went to "Startup disk" and unlocked it from that menu (using the filevault password).
Then after the reboot i signed into the administrator main account and only then after the logout, i was able to login to the regular account.

If i go to System preferences/Security & Privacy/FileVault, it still shows "Encrypting 14 hours remaining".
I didn't try to reboot the iMac again.. Hope the problem is gone.

Shame on you Apple, this FileVault process should be transparent without any weird lockdowns.

Thanx, again.

That's very odd, at a guess it seems like it got confused while encrypting, resulting in locking you out

Glad you got it sorted!
