Well, I plan on buying a 21.5" iMac soon and was wondering if there were any must have accessories such as the magic keyboard, a screen protector, and etc. If you have any ideas please tell me. Thank you very much!

Did you mean Magic Trackpad? I just bought one and it's nice. I'm getting used to it and trying not to use my mouse as much when I'm in Safari. Otherwise I don't have any accessories for the iMac other than the wired number pad keyboard, Logitech Performance MX mouse and the Magic Trackpad.

There aren't necessary accessories since the iMac comes with a wireless keyboard and a Magic Mouse.
Would you really need a screen protector? It's a desktop machine, I don't think you're going to be carrying it under your arm or touching it. The only reasonable screen protector would be a matte screen protector, if you prefer matte of course.
If you find that the Magic Mouse isn't comfortable because of its slim design, you could look into mice made by Logitech or Razer. The Razer Mamba is my favorite mouse at the moment.
An external hard drive is a good thing to have to run time machine.
External monitor? Mouse pad? Speakers?
I'm not really sure what you're going to need.

Yeah I mean magic trackpad. I played with one at the Apple store and will definitely get one of those. I want a screen protector because my dad is borrowing an iMac from the government and it gets greasy and dirty looking, but I don't think they do make those. :/

Time Machine basically creates a backup of everything you have on your mac on something like an external hard drive. So if you ever need something, deleted something, or your hard drive failed, you can go "back in time."
You don't absolutely need an external hard drive if you're not going to have anything that is worth "saving."
Honestly I'm not sure if Pages saves in .Doc format, but even if converted, its not going to work perfectly at times. Like when you want to convert your Keynote project to a Powerpoint so you could show it to your peers. -_-
Maybe someone else could answer your question on this one. I really haven't tried. I purchased iWork first and later found it necessary to have Microsoft Office for school, but I still prefer Pages over Word. That's just my preference.
Yes, Pages does "export" to .doc format. And it's actually a pretty good result with hardly any differences, unless there is extensive formatting involved.

We have a pc in the sun room so the iMac is at the kitchen bar and you know how that goes having me, a 14 year old, my younger sis and my older sis.

Just a note on surge protectors from my limited electronic experience and knowledge.
A lot (won't say "most" even though I bet it's "most") are not nearly fast enough to protect your electronics in the event of a lightning strike.
People argue over the usefulness of power conditioners quite a lot but one thing is for sure in my experience; they are definitely fast enough to protect your gear. They're pricey and I've heard people say "that's what I have home owners insurance for" but I'd like to talk to them after they've made a claim or 2 over a TV and a computer and then try to renew or get another policy in the future... Just a thought.
As far as performance (and this is getting even further off topic) in my experience, visual devices such as TVs, cable boxes etc. do in fact benefit in their performance. Audio devices... meh, not so much. Have even read reports of them degrading the performance of receivers but I don't have any first hand accounts.
@bigbro - when you were talking about a "screen protector" and having the iMac in a greasy environment such as near a kitchen, were you in fact thinking about a computer cover which would keep dust and grease off the iMac? If that is the case, then yes, something like that to help keep it (and the keyboard) clean would be a good idea. I can't recommend one offhand but a quick google will provide suitable things for you to look at.

I would recommend the Twelvesouth Back Pack (review on my youtube channel) and Fliders (fliders.com) for your Magic Mouse IF you intend on using the magic mouse on a naked desk.
Other than this, invest in screen cleaning solutions (i'd recommend Muc-Off).
