Granted this would be a bit of work, but could one use an S-IPS LCD panel from an older iMac as a replacement for the one shipping with the new iMac(AL)? This would not of course address the glare issues created by the glass but it would go some way to addressing the inconsistent colour reproduction of the cheap TN LCD panel and could be a solution for some sad graphic artists or photographers.
Does anyone know if the cabling / connectors of the LCDs might be similar ?
It's well publisied that the new iMac's panel is an LG/Philips LM201WE3 but would anyone know what the earlier G5(isight) or intel iMacs shipped with ?
Any insight would be helpful and appreciated.
